Rolled Hem or Narrow Hem Pintucks

Disengage the movable cutting blade. Use
a washable fabric marker to draw lines for
pintucks. Fold fabric with wrong sides
together on first line. Sew folded edge
using the edge of the needle plate as a
guide. (Do not allow the fabric to be sewn
beyond right side of the needle plate.) Sew
remaining pintucks using same method.
Press tucks to one side.

Removing Stitches from Fabric

Snip the needle thread(s) at intervals.
Gently pull the looper thread(s) and the
stitch will unravel.

Decorative Threads

There are many decorative threads
available for overlock use. Make sure
you choose threads and yarns that
smoothly move though the looper
or needle. Never use a thread that
breaks easily if you pull on it. Do not
use fuzzy (ex.mohair yarn) or uneven
threads that can catch on thread guides.
Decorative threads are generally used on
the loopers.
When placing decorative thread on the
upper looper only - decrease upper looper
tension (yellow) and increase lower looper
tension (green).
When placing decorative threads on the
upper and lower loopers decrease both
looper tensions (yellow and green).
When sewing a 2 thread overlock and
decorative thread is placed in lower looper,
decrease lower looper tension (green)
and increase needle tension (blue and red).
NOTE: It may be necessary to bypass the
pre-tension disc. Thread the thread guide
on top of machine, but do not go around
the pre-tension disc.
IMPORTANT: When using decorative
threads, sew at a slower, consistent speed
to prevent uneven stitches.
