ORIGINALS

There are four ways to set originals.
Set originals in the recirculating document handler.
Set originals in the document feeder.
Set one original at a time in the document feeder.
Set one original on the exposure glass.

Notes When Setting Originals

Always set the original face down
with the top of the original towards
the back of the machine.
Paper and original sizes that can be used are set with the user tools (
page 117). Check the paper and original sizes that you use.
Narrow margins on all four sides will
not be copied as shown in the illus-
tration. If you want to copy these
margins,
adjust
change the reproduction ratio. You
can also make copies without blank
side (b and c) and trailing (d) mar-
gins using the Special Features key.

When there is a solid image area near the leading edge of the original, make a 4
mm or more margin using the [Margin Adjust.] key or move the original 4 mm or
more to the left. Otherwise, paper misfeeds might occur.
Set the original after correction fluid and ink have completely dried. Not taking
this precaution could mark the exposure glass causing marks to be copied.
