Chapter 6: Prepare and install the Avaya
This section describes how to unpack, inspect, and install the Avaya Secure Router 4134. For instructions
to install interface modules in the Secure Router 4134, see Avaya Secure Router 4134 Installation —
Hardware Components (NN47263-301).
Unpacking and inspecting the chassis and shipping
accessories
You must carefully unpack the chassis and verify that all accessories have shipped with it.
Procedure steps
1. Remove the chassis from the shipping container.
2. Place the chassis on antistatic material.
3. Check for damage or missing accessories.
Important:
If you detect any damage, do not install the chassis. Call the Avaya Technical Solutions
Center in your area.
The following table lists the accessories you can find in the shipping container with the Secure
Router 4134. Place a mark in the third column of the table to verify that you have received
each accessory.

Installation — Chassis
Secure Router 4134 chassis

The screws for the mounting brackets are
8-32 x ¼ (12). The two types of screws for the
rack mount are as follows: For telecom racks
—12-24 x 5/8 Phillips (4) For cabinets—
10-32 x ½ Phillips (4)
Connects a management console to the
chassis.
