W4: Grinding-specific tool offset and tool monitoring
4.1 Grinding-specific tool data
4.1.3.6
$TC_TPG6 and $TC_TPG7
For grinding-specific tool monitoring (Page 298), theupper limit values of the grinding wheel are
entered in the parameters:
● Parameter $TC_TPG6: Speed [rpm]
● Parameter $TC_TPG7: Circumferential/peripheral speed [m*s
4.1.3.7
$TC_TPG8
For function "Constant grinding wheel peripheral speed (GWPS) (Page 301)", for an inclined
grinding wheel, the inclination angle α referred to the actual active plane (work plane G17, G18,
G19) is entered in parameter $TC_TPG8.
The permissible range of inclination angle α is: -90° ≤ α < +90°
Figure 4-2
Note
The tool length is not automatically compensated when the angle in parameter $TC_TPG8 is
changed.
Note
For machines with inclined axis, the same angle must be entered for the inclined axis as for the
inclined grinding wheel.
