Performing the Inspection
Safety items to protect operators and service representatives from injury are
included in the design and assembly of IBM machines. This inspection guide identi-
fies areas of the machine that might not be safe. Use good sense to identify other
safety conditions not covered by this inspection guide.

Ensure that the following reference information is available:
Service memorandums (SMs), including engineering change announcements
(ECAs) and service aids (SAs) for this machine type

Covers
Ensure that the following items are
not damaged and have no sharp
edges:
Top cover
Front panel
Front door
Ensure that the correct fuses are
in the fuse module. See "Fuse
Removal and installation" on
page 3-1 10.
There must be a 6.0 ampere fuse
on the side of the module nearest
to the 120 V triangle and a 3.15
ampere fuse on the side nearest to
the 240 V triangle.
