Warning: During on-line operations, do not press
the Do key (when the key cap is changed; otherwise
the Hold key) while holding down both the Ctrl and
Shift keys; data could be lost.
The Test key does not exist as a single key. The test function
is performed when the Do key (when the key cap is changed;
otherwise Hold key) is pressed while holding down both the
Ctrl and Shift keys.
Pressing the three keys in the same order causes the display
station to enter test mode and a test pattern appears. In this
mode, internal circuits are checked. You can also check the
keyboard using the test pattern. See Chapter 5, "Solving
Problems" in IBM 3151 ASCII Display Station Guide to
Operations for more information.
Pressing the three keys again in the same order causes the
display station to exit this mode while initializing the display
station.
