The display unit consists of:

SELECTING THE INSTALLATION
POSITION
Select a display unit installation position by taking into consideration the following:
1) Install the display unit so that the user can easily conduct observations.
2) Install the display unit at least the compass safe distance away from nautical instruments including
magnetic compasses and chronometers.
3) Take precautions to prevent water from splashing through the window or door of the bridge onto the
display unit.
4) Install the display unit by considering convenience of maintenance.
If the display unit is adjacent to machinery or walls on the right, left, above or behind, allow enough slack
in the installation cable so that the display unit can be pulled forward for maintenance and inspection.
5) Install the LCD monitor so that when the user is looking ahead, the lookout view is not obscured. The
orientation of the display unit should be such that the user is looking ahead. The lookout view should not
be obscured and the ambient light should cause minimum degradation on the display.
6) Install the unit away from direct sunlight and heat source. When the desktop type display unit is installed
into the console, pay attention that its ambient temperature does not exceed +55 degrees Celsius.
