squaring stock means making it flat and paral-
lel along both length and width, and making the
length and width perpendicular to one another.
the purpose of squaring stock is to prepare it for
accurate cuts and construction later on.
a properly "squared up" workpiece is essential
for tasks such as accurate table saw cuts, glue-
ups/laminations, cutting accurate bevels on a
bandsaw, and many other applications where
one surface of a workpiece is used to reference
another.
