Receiving PTT Broadcasts
To receive a broad cast sent on a particular channel, you need to be subscribed
to that channel. To su bscribe to a channel, see
on p age 44.
H ow you receive a PTT broad cast d epend s on the broad cast p riority, w hether
you 're in an active call, or if you 're allow ed to receive broad casts d uring active
calls.
You 'll receive broad casts on the channels you 're su bscribed to as w ell as
Channel 24 (the Priority channel) and Channel 25 (the Em ergency channel). If
you 've enabled Do Not Disturb on your phone, you 'll only receive Em ergency
broad casts. N on-em ergency broad casts w on't d isp lay or p lay on your p hone.
When a broad cast end s, you r phone em its an end of transmission beep and
enters a 10 second w aiting period . Du ring this period , you can respond to the
broad cast (see
Receiving PTT Broadcasts When You're Not in an Active Call
If you receive a broad cast and you 're not in an active call, the broad cast
im m ed iately plays, regard less of the broad cast priority.
Receiving PTT Broadcasts During Active Calls
H ow you hand le a broad cast w hen you're in an active call d epend s on the
broad cast priority and if you 're allow ed to receive a broad cast w hen you're in
an active call.
If the broad cast is a N orm al broad cast:
If you r p hone is enabled to receive broad casts d u ring active calls, the
broad cast im m ed iately plays. You'll hear both the original call and the
broad cast. To listen to only the broad cast, hold or end the call.
If your phone isn't allow ed to receive broad casts d uring active calls, the
broad cast d isplays as a held broad cast. To listen to the broad cast, scroll to
the broad cast and press the Accep t soft key.
If the broad cast is a Priority or Em ergency broad cast, the broad cast
im m ed iately p lays. You 'll hear both the original call and the broad cast. To
listen to only the broad cast, hold or end the call.
Replying to PTT Broadcasts
When a broad cast end s, the broad cast enters a 10 second w aiting period .
