QoS based on IEEE std. 802.1p
MPR-e
The QoS feature provides eight internal queues to support different traffic priorities. The QoS
function assigns the packet to one of the eight egress transmit queues.
Queue 8 is assigned to TDM2TDM traffic (not used in the current release)
Queue 7 is assigned to TDM2Eth traffic
Queue 6 is assigned to TMN
Queues 1 to 5 are assigned to Ethernet traffic according to the information inside the packet
as 802.1p field, DiffServ field or Ethertype.
All the MEF-8 ETH2ETH traffic flows are assigned to the Q5 egress priority queue.
When the 802.1p QoS mechanism is adopted, the reference is the standard "IEEE 802.1D-
2004 Annex G User priorities and traffic classes", which defines eight traffic types and the
corresponding user priority values.
In the Radio Interface module for generic Ethernet traffic, there are five egress queues;
therefore, the mapping of the 802.1p value to a queue is as shown in
802.1p priority
111, 110
