5.10 Setting the sewing foot pressure

The adjusting wheel at the top left of the machine arm determines the
contact pressure of the sewing foot on the material to be sewn. The
pressure can be adjusted continuously by turning the wheel.
The correct pressure depends on the material:
Correct setting
The material to be sewn does not slip and is fed smoothly.

To increase the sewing foot pressure:
1. Turn the adjusting wheel (1) clockwise.
To reduce the sewing foot pressure:
1. Turn the adjusting wheel (1) counterclockwise.

Lower pressure for soft materials, e.g. cloth
Greater pressure for strong materials, e.g. leather
If the pressure is too high: The material could tear
If the pressure is too weak: The material could slip
