DTC P1135 3RD PISTON DEACTIVATOR (INJECTION PUMP SOLENOID VALVE) CIRCUIT
MALFUNCTION
WIRING DIAGRAM
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
1) Connect scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
2) Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC, pending DTC and freeze flame data by using scan tool.
3) Run engine at idle speed.
4) Check DTC and pending DTC by using scan tool.
TROUBLESHOOTING
STEP
1 Was "ENGINE DIAG. FLOW TABLE" performed?
2 Is operating sound heard from fuel pump?
3 Check Wire Harness
1) Disconnect injection pump solenoid valve
connector with ignition switch turned OFF.
2) With ignition switch ON, check voltage between
"BLU/WHT" wire terminal of solenoid valve
connector and ground.
D Within 5 sec. after ignition switch ON: 10 – 14 V
D Over 5 sec. after ignition switch ON: about 0 V
Is check result as specified?
4 Check Injector Pump Solenoid Valve
Check resistance between "BLU/WHT" and
"RED/GRN" terminal of valve.
Is it between 25 – 30 Ω?

C51-80 RED / GRN
ACTION
1. Double relay
2. ECM
3. Injection pump solenoid valve
4. Fuel pump
5. "ENG" fuse (15 A)
6. "FUEL PUMP" fuse (15 A)
YES
Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 4.
D "RED/GRN" wire
open or shorted to
power /ground.
D Poor C51-80
connection.
If wire and connection
are OK, substitute a
known-good ECM and
recheck.
(3rd piston deactivator)
NO
Go to "ENGINE DIAG.
FLOW TABLE".
Proceed to DTC
P0230 Diag. Flow
table.
"BLU/WHT" wire open
or short to ground.
Faulty injection pump
solenoid valve.
