Fuel Tank Calibration

If your boat is equipped with a fuel level sensor, check
to see if you can monitor the trip data "FUEL REMAIN-
ING (l, Gal)." If not, a fuel tank calibration must be per-
formed.
There are two possible calibration methods for the fuel
tank, FUEL FULL TANK CALIBRATION (approxi-
mate), FUEL MULTIPOINT CALIBRATION (more pre-
cise).
For twin installations: There is either one sender
connected to port or starboard engine or one
sender connected to each engine. Fuel tank cali-
brations need to be performed for each fuel level
sender. Check both displays for fuel tank calibra-
tions.
These instructions are a continuation of the section
entitled Entering the Settings Menu on page 154.
Use the BACK BUTTON 5 at any time to return to the
previous menu.
5. Turn the SELECTION WHEEL 10 to select FUEL
TANK CALIBRATION and enter by pushing
SELECTION WHEEL.

Fuel Multipoint Calibration

When the more precise FUEL MULTIPOINT CALI-
BRATION is selected, the fuel level sender is calibrat-
ed in five equally divided steps; 20% full (pos 1), 40%
full (pos 2), 60% full (pos 3), 80% full (pos 4) and
100% full (pos 5).
To perform a multipoint calibration, the fuel tank
must be LESS than 20% full. If the calibration
skips POS 1 and goes directly to POS 2, the fuel
tank contains too much fuel and the calibration
will not be correct.
6. Turn the SELECTION WHEEL 10 to select FUEL
MULTIPOINT CALIBRATION and enter by push-
ing MULTIPOINT SELECTION WHEEL.
7. Fill fuel tank with displayed volume (POS 1) and
confirm by pushing the SELECTION WHEEL.
Add fuel (do not reset the pump) up to displayed
volume for each POS (and confirm in between)
until the tank is filled.
