The fuel filter should be replaced
according to the time and distance
recommendations in the mainte-
nance schedule.
It is recommended to replace the
fuel filter every 40,000 km (25,000
miles), or 2 years (except EU), if the
fuel you are using is suspected to be
contaminated. In a high dust
environment, the filter may become
clogged sooner.
Have a qualified technician change
the fuel filter. Since the fuel system
is under pressure, fuel can spray out
and create a hazard if all fuel line
connections are not handled
correctly.
Draining Water
(Diesel models only)
The fuel filter should be drained
of water according to the time and
distance recommendations in the
maintenance schedule.
To drain the water:
1.
Open the bonnet.
2.
Install a rubber hose on the water
draining screw at the bottom of
the fuel filter.

Loosen the water draining screw.
3.
Drain the water into an
appropriate container.
4.
Drain the water about 85 ml (2.9 fl.
oz, 3.0 Imp. oz) to 150 ml (5.1 fl. oz,
5.3 Imp. oz) until the fuel starts to
run out of the water draining
screw.
