5.6.3 Adjusting the backrest angle (Modulite seat

unit)

CAUTION!
Every change to the seat angle and the backrest
angle alters the geometry of the power
wheelchair and affects its dynamic stability
– For more information on stability, overcoming
obstacles correctly, driving along inclines and slopes
and the correct position of the backrest and seat
angles, see the section 6.5 Taking Obstacles, page 72
and 6.6 Driving up and down gradients, page 74.
CAUTION!
Risk of falling out of the wheelchair
When adjusting the backrest, it might move backward
unexpectedly and you might fall out of the wheelchair.
– Do not rest against the backrest while adjusting it.
If the backrest is fitted with knobs instead of Allen screws,
you do not need tools.
Width-adjustable backrest
Tools:
5 mm Allen key

On both sides, loosen and remove the upper backrest screw A.

Set the required backrest angle in 7.5° steps.
Use scale B on the backrest for this purpose. Ensure that you
set the same angle on both sides.
3.
Re-insert and tighten the screw.
Ensure you insert the screw through one of the holes of the
backrest bracket. The screw must be visible on the inside of the
bracket and the screw head must be flush with the bracket.
