AIR INTAKE SYSTEM

Air Filter Box Draining

Periodically inspect air filter box drain tube for
liquids or deposits.

NOTE: If vehicle is used in dusty area, in-
spect more frequently than specified in MAIN-
TENANCE CHART.
If liquids/deposits are found, squeeze and re-
move the clamp. Pull drain tube out then emp-
ty it.
CAUTION: Do not start engine when liquids
or deposits are found in the drain tube.
When liquids/deposits are found, the air filter
must be inspected/dried/replaced depending
on its condition.
Remove air filter as explained below.

Air Filter Removal

CAUTION: Never remove or modify any com-
ponent in the air box. Otherwise, engine per-
formance degradation or damage can occur.
The engine carburation is calibrated to oper-
ate specifically with these components.
Remove seat.
Release clamps and remove air filter box
cover.
