Read before operating your range
All appliances - regardless of the manufacturer - have the potential
throughimproperorcarelessuseto createsafetyproblems. Therefore
the followingsafety precautions shouldbe observed:
1. Be sure your appliance is properlyinstalled and grounded by a
qualifiedtechnician.
2. Never use your appliancefor warmingor heatingthe room.
3. Children should not be left alone or unattendedin area where
applianceisin use. They shouldneverbe allowedto sitorstandon
any part of the appliance.
4. Wear properapparel. Loose-fitting or hanging garmentsshould
never be worn while usingthe appliance.
5. Do not repairorreplaceany partofthe applianceunlessspecifically
recommended inthismanual. Allotherservicingshouldbe referred
to an authorizedJenn-AirServiceContractor.
6, Flammable materials should not be stored in an oven or near
surface units.
7. Do not usewater on greasefires. Smotherfire or flame or usedry
chemicalor foam-type extinguisher.
8. Useonlydry pothofders.Moistordamppotholderson hotsurfaces
may result in burnsfrom steam. Do not let potholdertouch hot
heatingelements. Do notuse a towel or otherbulky cloth.
g. Use properpan size. Many appliancesare equippedwith one or
more surface unitsof different size. Select cookware havingflat
bottoms large enough to cover the surface unit heatingelement.
The useof undersizedcookwarewillexposea portionof the heating
element to direct contact and may result in ignitionof clothing.
Properrelationship ofoookware toheatingelementwillalsoimprove
efficiencyand performance.
10. Never leave surface units unattended at high heat settings. Boil
over may causesmokingand greasy spillovers that may ignite.
11. Do not use aluminumfoil to line surface unit drip pans or oven
bottom. Installationof these linersmay resultin an electric shock
or fire hazard.
