controlon "g" (High)forone minute;then setthe control t othe lowerdesiredsetting.
Coveringpans, wheneverpossible, speeds cookingand Is more energy efficient.
• The glassceramiccookingarea retainsheatfor a periodoftime afterthe elements
have been turned off. Putthis retained heat to good use. Turn theelements offa
few minutes beforefood iscompletely cookedand usethe retained heatto complete
the cooking. Because of this heat retentioncharacteristic,the elementswin not
respondto changesin heat settingsas quickly as coil elements. In the event of a
potentialboil over, removethe cookpotfrom the cookingarea.
• Whenpreparingfoods whichcan be easilyscorchedor over-cooked,startcooking
at a lower temperaturesetting and graduallyincrease temperatureas needed.
• A highersetting than normalmay be necessarywhen usingcookpotsmade with
materialthat is slow to conductheat, such _s cast iron.
• A lowersettingcan be usedwhen cookingsmallquantitiesoffoods or when using
a cookpotthat conductsheat quickly.
IMPORTANT
• Do not use wire trivets,fire rings, pads or any such item betweenthe cookware
and the e_ement.
• Do not cookfoods directlyon cooktop.
• Do not allow pan to boil dry as this coulddamage the cooktopand the pan.
• Do notslideheavymetal orglasscookpots acrosssurfacesincethesemay scratch
the surface.
• Do not use or place plasticitemsanywhereon cooktop.
