• Do not move pedal suddenly–always operate slowly and smoothly. Never move pedal violently from
forward to reverse or vice versa.
• Always keep foot firmly on the foot pedal–a too relaxed foot control may result in a jerky motion.

7.8 MOWING _____________________________________________________________

1. Release the transport latches and lower the cutting units with the joysticks.
2. Ensure speed limiter is in mow position. (Cutting at a higher speed could be dangerous and may not give
the required finish.)
3. Engage the cutting mechanism by pushing on the lower half of cutting unit switch.
4. Release the parking brake and begin driving forward.
5. If the mower is used with the optional stability warning system a warning will be displayed on the visual
display unit on the control panel should the mower be driven on a slope exceeding its safe limit. at 22deg
the centre and upper unit will be raised 4"-6" above the ground to improve stability and all units will stop
rotating. until the mower is moved to a safe operating area.
NOTE: Always set the throttle to full engine revs. for mowing, even when the grass is heavy. When the engine is
labouring, reduce forward speed by easing back on the FWD/REV foot pedal.

7.9 TO STOP THE ENGINE _________________________________________________

1. Disengage drive to the cutting units with the cutting unit switch.
2. Return the FWD/REV pedal to the neutral position.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Move the throttle control lever to the SLOW position.
5. Turn the ignition key to OFF.

7.10 UNBLOCKING CUTTING UNITS __________________________________________

1. Switch off cutting unit drive, lift out of work and move machine to flat level ground.
2. Switch engine off and remove the ignition key.
3. Using a piece of wood and personal protective equipment e.g. eye protection and gloves, remove
blockage. The reel can be rotated by using a spanner on the hexagon drive on the reel non drive end.
4. Check blades for damage and replace or repair if necessary.
5. Start engine and run the cutting units to check for correct operation.
