Alarm Terminal Connection

A connection example is shown below.

IN: Stands for Alarm Signal In. Connect directly with a
sensor unit or indirectly with a unit having sensor
output capability to the recorder. The recorder
enters alarm recording mode when the signal
comes in.
RESET IN: Receives reset signal from the connected
device.
RECOVER OUT: Supplies the reset signal when the
RESET IN is received, STOP button is pressed, or
the AUTO RESET time elapses.
OUT: Stands for status output that is active until the
alarm is reset.
RECALL: Turn on the externally connected switch to
recall the alarm history on the monitor.
GND: Signal ground.

RS-232C Connection

Use an RS-232C cable (not included) shown below to con-
nect the RS-232C terminal with a personal computer or the
like. The protocol selection in the COMMUNICATION
SETUP must be set to VCR.

PS*Data Connection

Connect the DATA terminal on the rear panel to a system

component with a modular cable (not included) in the PS
Data chain. The protocol selection in the COMMUNICA-
TION SETUP must be set to PS*DATA. Follow the unit
address setup (page 14, 30) and termination (page 14).
Panasonic part # WV-CA48 series, RS-485 cables and con-
nectors are recommended for the connection.
