5.3 Checking the play between the toothed rack and

(1) - Gear pinion
(2) - Toothed rack
Proper setting
There should be no play between the gear pinion (1) and toothed rack (2).
Setting steps
1. Loosen the screw (4).
2. Adjust the nut (3) so that there is no play.
3. Tighten the screw (4).
4. Check the play along the entire length.
 The carriage can be moved without excessive play or stiffness.
