9.  Setup
The voltage level for either or both of the RS-232 output lines.
l
An RS-232 hexadecimal control string.
l
The event causing the player to execute the item.
l
Click the tab for the option you require:
Items – Listing the RS-232 items already defined on the iCC.
l
Add Item – Adding a new RS-232 item.
l
Configuration – Accessing the RS-232 configuration options, including baud rate, data bits, stop bits, and parity.
l
The player can execute an RS-232 item in a playlist or automatically at one of the following events:
Screen is muted or unmuted.
l
Audio is muted or unmuted.
l
A specified layout starts or completes.
l
You have to specify the condition when you create the item: you cannot change it later.
Note: You can only create one RS-232 item for each of the conditions.
The RS-232 items are published as part of the channel and are downloaded to subscriber players. However, the iCC provides
an override so you can designate an RS-232 string or configuration to use locally that is different from that defined in the
channel's RS-232 item.
Items:
For each item, you can take these actions:

button to delete an item.

button to review or modify an item's properties. Click the

Note: If you have enabled Send RS-232 String Action for the item, the iCC also displays the Local Override section.
This allows you to enable and define a local RS-232 string for the item separate from the one defined in the channel.
Add Item:
To create the RS-232 item, complete the following settings and click the
Name
Perform Enabled Actions when
Send RS-232 String Action
RS-232 String (as Hexadecimal)
DTR (Data Terminal Read) Action
RTS (Ready To Send) Action

Enter a name to uniquely identify this RS-232 item.
Specify when the player executes the RS-232 item (in a playlist or automatically at the event
you specify).
Check the Send RS-232 String Action box to enable the player to send the RS-232 string you
specify. Clearing the box disables it.
Enter the RS-232 string you want the player to send (in hexadecimal).
Check the Set DTR level box to enable the player to set the DTR line voltage to the option you
select. Clearing the box disables it.
Check the Set RTS level box to enable the player to set the RTS line voltage to the option you
select. Clearing the box disables it..
