Removing the Engine From the Display Stand

Lay the engine on its side with the
display stand attached. It would be a
good idea to lay the engine on folded
towel or similar soft surface to prevent
damage or scratches to the engine.
Then remove the 4 screws that attach the engine to the display board. The engine and
display board will now separate. The engine is now ready to be lubricated and placed on
the track.

Lubrication

You should lubricate the engine to prevent it from squeaking. Use light
household oil and follow the lubrication points marked "L" in Fig. 3.
Do not over-oil. Use only a drop on each pivot point.

Pantographs

The Pantograph / Track selection Switch is located under the large removable
hatch cover on the roof as shown in figure 6
WARNING: The Automatic Operating Pantographs must be unlatched or the on-off
switch must be set to OFF before power is applied to the engine.

Automatic Operating Pantographs

Your MTH electric type engine is equipped with Automatic Operating Pantographs.
The Automatic Operating Pantographs must be unlatched before power is applied to
the engine. To unlatch the pantographs, hold the base of the pantograph and gently pull
up on the contact slider.
