Chapter 2: Remote Interface

The AERO.ASI is currently controlled exclusively via the Remote Interface software. The front panel
OLED displays software version, host name, and IP address, and the navigation controller is not yet
used. The reasoning behind this will be apparent after using the unit for a short period.
The Remote Interface software is a separate client application that can be downloaded and installed
on most recent desktop, laptop, or tablet PCs running Windows XP, Vista, or 7. Touchscreen support
is provided for touch-sensitive devices.
All AERO.ASI parameter adjustments must be made via the remote client. The remote can also stream
high quality audio back over the local network to the host computer so different processor patch
points can be monitored in real-time. With appropriate high speed connectivity to the local network,
offsite remote control and real-time audio monitoring is also possible. This enables, for example,
checking station groups from a single location, or checking a single station when you inevitably find
yourself awake and bored at 3AM.
