Linear Acoustic AERO.ASI User Guide
Introduction to AERO.ASI
To select each of the ASI programs, enter the PID as a decimal value (not Hex). The AERO.ASI will
extract that PID and should immediately begin decoding that audio. To reinsert the processed output,
enable PGM 1 Audio Insertion (or whichever program is desired). The outgoing DVB-ASI stream
now has that PID replaced with a corrected version of the audio that was originally there.

It is critical to ensure that the data rate for each encoder is set to match the incoming data rate. At this
time, it is not possible for the AERO.ASI to change the data rate between incoming and outgoing au-
dio PIDs. Please see Section 1.7 below for adjusting the Dolby Digital (AC-3) encoder.
Output data rate for each PID must be manually set to match its corresponding input rate!
WARNING:
Note also that since the decoder and encoder are decoupled for the purposes of adjusting the audio,
metadata is reset to match the newly processed audio. This gives some isolation from potential up-
stream issues due to incorrect metadata.
Finally, compensating delay is preset to match the processing delay of 345 milliseconds thereby main-
taining zero timing and thus proper lipsync.
