Troubleshooting - Icom IC-F4SR Instruction Manual

If your transceiver seems to be malfunctioning, please check
the following points before sending it to a service center.
PROBLEM
No power comes ON.
No sound comes from
the speaker.
Transmitting is impossi-
ble.
No contact possible with
another station.
The displayed channel
cannot be changed.
Scan starts automati-
cally.
No beeps sound.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• The battery is exhausted.
• Bad connection to the battery pack.
• Volume level is too low.
• Different tone or code is selected.
• The battery is exhausted.
• Different channel is selected.
• Different tone or code is selected.
• Lock function is activated.
• The auto channel function is activated.
• Confirmation beeps are turned OFF.

TROUBLESHOOTING

SOLUTION
• Recharge the battery pack.
• Check the connection to the transceiver.
• Set [VOL] to a suitable level.
• Check the tone using tone scan.
• Recharge the battery pack.
• Use scan in all channel mode.
• Check the tone using tone scan.
• Push [ ] for 2 sec. to cancel the func-
tion.
• Turn the auto channel function OFF.
• Turn confirmation beeps ON in set mode.
