42.1.3 Backup a Configuration File

Backing up your Switch configurations allows you to create various "snapshots" of your device from
which you may restore at a later date.
Back up your current Switch configuration to a computer using the Backup Configuration screen.

Follow the steps below to back up the current Switch configuration to your computer in this screen.
Click Backup.

Click Save to display the Save As screen.

Choose a location to save the file on your computer from the Save in drop-down list box and type

a descriptive name for it in the File name list box. Click Save to save the configuration file to your
computer.

42.1.4 Erase Running-Configuration

Follow the steps below to clear current configuration on the Switch. Note that this will NOT reset the
Switch back to its factory defaults. If you want to change the Switch to its factory default mode,
click Factory Default button in Reboot System..
In the Maintenance screen, click the Click Here button next to Erase Running-Configuration

to clear all Switch configuration information you configured on the Switch.
Click OK to reset all Switch configurations.

In the web configurator, click the Save button in the top of the screen to make the changes take

effect. If you want to access the Switch web configurator again, you may need to change the IP
address of your computer to be in the same subnet as that of the default Switch IP address
(192.168.1.1).

42.1.5 Save Configuration

Click Config 1 to save the current configuration settings permanently to configuration one on the
Switch.
