10. Do the following to connect the tape drive to your server:
a. Connect the connector

b. Connect the 4-pin power connector on the other end of the cable to the 4-pin power connector on
the backplane. See "Backplane for up to eight 2.5-inch drives" on page 42.
c. Connect the SATA connector on the other end of the cable to the SATA connector on the ThinkServer
RAID 720ix AnyRAID Adapter. See "AnyRAID adapter, PCIe pass-through board, and PCIe interposer
card" on page 32.
11. Save the removed metal shield in case that you later remove the drive and need the shield to cover the
drive bay.

Replacing the tape drive

To replace the tape drive, do the following:
1. Remove all external media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to
the server.
