Problem
A long delay
occurs
between
pressing the
Shutter button
and the
camera
taking a
picture.
The camera
does not take
a picture
when I press
the Shutter
button.

Possible cause
The camera
needs time to
lock focus and
exposure.
The camera is
taking a long
exposure.
The camera is
set to
Red-eye
Reduction.
You did not
press the
Shutter
button
hard enough.
The memory
storage is full
(either internal
or card).
The memory
card is locked.
The flash is
recharging.

Solution
Use
Focus
Lock.
Use a tripod or the flash.
It will take longer to take a picture
with
Red-eye Reduction
The shutter is delayed because of
the additional flash. In turn, make
sure your subjects wait for the
second flash.
Press the
Shutter
way down.
Unload images from the camera
to your computer, then delete all
images from internal memory or
the memory card. Move images
from internal memory to a
memory card to free up internal
memory, or replace the card with
a new one.
Switch the locking tab on the
memory card to the unlocked
position.
Wait until the flash has recharged
before taking another picture.
