Maintenance and Specifications
An overfill condition of
transaxle fluid may cause shift
and/or engagement concerns
and/or possible damage.
Checking and adding manual
transmission fluid (if equipped)
1. Clean the filler plug.
2. Remove the filler plug and
inspect the fluid level.
3. The fluid level should be at the
bottom of the opening.
4. Add enough fluid through the
filler hole so that the fluid level is at
the bottom of the opening.
5. Install and tighten the filler plug
securely.
Use only fluid which has been
released by Ford under WSD M2C
200C.

CLUTCH FLUID

(if equipped)
Check the clutch fluid level. Refer
to the Scheduled Maintenance
Guide" for the service interval
schedules.
The clutch master cylinder and
brake master cylinder are part of
the same system; both are refillable
through the brake master cylinder
with brake fluid. During normal
operation, the fluid level in the
brake fluid reservoir should remain
constant. For more information on
brake fluid maintenance, refer to
Brake fluid in this chapter.
