CAUTIONS
In an emergency, you can add just
water to the cooling system to reach
a vehicle service station. Have the
system checked by a properly trained
technician as soon as possible.
Prolonged use of incorrect dilution of
the coolant can cause engine
damage from corrosion, overheating
or freezing.
Unscrew the cap slowly. Any pressure
will escape slowly as you unscrew the
cap.
CAUTION
Do not top up further than the MAX
mark.
Top up with a 50/50 mixture of coolant
and water using fluid that meets the Ford
specification. See Technical
specifications (page 188).
BRAKE AND CLUTCH FLUID
CHECK
WARNINGS
Do not allow the fluid to touch your
skin or eyes. If this happens, rinse
the affected areas immediately with
plenty of water and contact your doctor.
If the level is at the MIN mark, have
the system checked by a properly
trained technician as soon as
possible.
Maintenance
Note: The brake and the clutch systems
are supplied from the same reservoir.
Top up with fluid that meets the Ford
specification. See Technical
specifications (page 188).
POWER STEERING FLUID
CHECK
Vehicles with 1.4L Duratec-16V
(Sigma) or 1.6L Duratec-16V
(Sigma) or 1.6L Duratec-16V Ti-
VCT (Sigma) engine
The fluid level should come up to the
MAX mark when the engine is cold.
If it drops below the MIN mark, top up
with the specified fluid. See Technical
specifications (page 188).
All except vehicles with 1.4L
Duratec-16V (Sigma) or 1.6L
Duratec-16V (Sigma) or 1.6L
Duratec-16V Ti-VCT (Sigma)
engine
No fluid level checks are necessary.

WASHER FLUID CHECK

The front and rear washer systems are
supplied from the same reservoir.
