Recording your favorite
CD tracks on a tape

— CD-TAPE Synchro Recording

You can record a whole disc (VIDEO CD and
CD) on a tape.
You can use TYPE I (normal) tape. The
recording level is adjusted automatically.
Use buttons on the unit for the operation.

Load a recordable tape into deck B,
then press TAPE A/B repeatedly to
select "TAPE B".

Press nN (or H on the remote)
repeatedly to select recording side,
then press x.
If you select both sides recording or front
side recording, press nN (or H on the
remote) to light up the N indicator, then
press x. If you record on the reverse side,
press nN repeatedly to light up the n
indicator, then press x.

Press DIRECTION repeatedly to select
"g" to record on one side. Select
"j" (or "RELAY") to record on both
sides.

Press DVD and load a disc you want to
record.
If you have already loaded the disc, press
DISC 1 – 3 to select the disc. If the selected
disc automatically starts playback, press x
twice to cancel Resume Play.

Press CD SYNC.
Deck B stands by for recording.
"SYNC" lights up and "REC" flashes.

Press REC PAUSE/START.
Recording starts.
To stop recording
Press x.
Notes
• CD Synchro Recording is not available with DVDs,
DATA CDs and DATA DVDs.
• You cannot listen to other sources while recording.
• When you press CD SYNC in step 5, the surround
effect may automatically change (see "Selecting the
surround effect" on page 55).
• If the play mode is set to Shuffle Play, Program Play
or Repeat Play, it automatically switches to Normal
Play in step 5.
• When you record from a VIDEO CD, playback with
PBC functions is automatically canceled.
• The sound cuts off for a moment during recording
when:
– you connect or disconnect the microphones
– you turn on or off the karaoke mode
• CD SYNC only works in DVD function.
• Do not eject the tape during recording, as this may
cause irreparable damage to the tape and the tape
deck.
Tips
• If you select both sides recording and the tape
reaches the end of the front side part-way through a
track, the entire track is recorded again from the
beginning of the reverse side.
• When you record on both sides, be sure to start from
the front side. If you start from the reverse side,
recording stops at the end of the reverse side.
