Viewing information
about the disc in the
display
You can check the playing time and remaining
time of the current track or that of the disc.
When a DVD/CD-TEXT disc or a disc with
MP3 audio tracks or JPEG image file is loaded,
you can also check the information recorded on
disc, such as the titles.
Checking the remaining time
and titles (DVD/VIDEO CD/CD/
MP3/DivX)
Press TIME/TEXT repeatedly during Normal
Play.
Each time you press the button, the display
changes cyclically as follows:
x When playing a DVD VIDEO/DVD-RW
Elapsed playing time of the current title t
Remaining time of the current title t Elapsed
playing time of the current chapter t
Remaining time of the current chapter t Disc

Other characters appear as "*". In addition, "NO
TEXT" is displayed for discs without DVD/CD text
and file name.

Notes
• Playing timer of MP3 audio tracks and DivX video
files* may not be displayed correctly.
• If you play a disc containing JPEG image files only,
"JPEG" or "NO AUDIO" appears in the display.
* Except for MHC-GNZ9D Latin American model,
GNZ8D Latin American model, GNZ7D and
GNZ5D

Press TIME/TEXT in stop mode.
Each time you press the button, the display
