7 Press @ REC.
The @ REC and ff PAUSE indicators
light and the deck stands by for
recording.
The direction indicators (<J or >)
light to indicate which sides of the
cassette you can use to record. (For a full
explanation of the > and <i
indicators, see "What the [> and <1]
indicators indicate" in "Recording a CD
automatically.")
If you want to record from the reverse
side, press <1] so the <J indicator lights
steadily.
8 Press If PAUSE, on the tape buttons, to
release recording pause. Recording
starts.
You can also start recording by pressing
Cc or <1.
9 Press E> on the CD buttons.
The CD player starts playing.

Note
If you want to record specific tracks of a
CD, the "program edit" feature wilkmake it
easier.
Adjusting the volume will not effect the
recording level
But it will change the sound levels you hear
through the speakers or headphones.

Recording a CD:
Selecting Tape Length
Automatically (tape
select edit)
You can have the CD player select and
indicate the most suitable tape length for
recording each disc automatically.
You cannot, however, use tape select edit
for discs containing more than 20 tracks.
POWER-+ON
1 Press
8 OPEN/CLOSE and place a disc
on the tray. Then press
8 OPEN/
CLOSE again to close the tray. If
necessary, press DISC SKIP on the
remote commander to choose a CD.
The total number of tracks and the total
playing time appears in the display.
2 Press EDIT
"EDIT" appears in the display ,and the
player divides the tracks automatically
and displays the tape length required to
record the entire CD.
- The display changes as follows:
3 Press
8 OPEN /CLOSE and insert a
blank tape of the indicated length (or
longer) into the tape deck, with the side
you want to record facing upward.
Make sure the tabs on the cassette have
not been removed.
4 Select how to record the tape.

* Recording always stops at the end of the
reverse side. Be sure to start from the
front side.
5 set DOLBY NR to B or C when you
want to reduce tape hiss in low-level,
high- frequency signals.
6 Press CD SYNCHRO.

7 Press 11 PAUSE on the cassette controls
to release recording pause. Recording
starts.
To stop recording
Press @.
To check the order
Press CHECK repeatedly.
