Internal memo
You can record a personal message with this
function. Messages can be heard on the fax
machine itself or by remote control from a tele-
phone. Briefl y press REC twice and wait for the
confi rmation tone. Record the desired message.
A black bar on the display indicates the remaining
recording time. To end recording press STOP.
Internal memos can be played back and deleted
like any other message.

Remote control

You can also control the answering machine
functions on your fax from any telephone using
tone dialling. Before you can use remote control
you have to enter an access code in function
52 (this code will also be used for function 55
Forwarding).
Preparing your fax machine for remote
access
1 Select MENU, 52 and OK.
2 Enter a four digit code.
3 Press OK. The code is now stored.
Remote access of the answering
machine
1 If you want to listen to the messages recorded
from another telephone, call your fax machine
and wait for the answering machine to play
the message.
2 Enter the four-digit code. The outgoing mes-
sage will be interrupted and you will hear a
confi rmation tone. The new messages will be
played back. If no new messages have been
recorded, you will hear a second confi rmation
tone.
3 Then you can enter commands as usual or
terminate the remote control by replacing the
handset.
FUNCTIONS
Overview of commands
1 The message you are just listening to will be
repeated.
2 Your messages will be played back.
3 Move to the next message.
4 Record a new outgoing message. Press 4.
If you press 4 again after two confi rmation
tones, you will hear a long confi rmation tone.
Record the new outgoing message and fi nish
with 4.
5 The current outgoing message will be re-
played.
6 The current message will be deleted. If you
press 6 after having listened to all messages,
all messages will be deleted.
In both cases you will hear a confi rmation
tone after the fi rst time you press the key.
Press 6 again within fi ve seconds to execute
the deleting command.

Switch answering machine off.
v While reading messages, press key 7. Af-
ter hearing four bips, press again key 7.
8 The current command will be interrupted.
9 Switch answering machine on.
