To increase compression
damping, turn adjustment
wheel 1 in direction H.
To decrease compression
damping, turn adjustment
wheel 1 in direction S.
Compression stage, basic
setting, rear
Turn damping completely
closed with upper adjust-
ment wheel, then open 14
clicks. (Full tank of gas, with
rider 187 lbs (85 kg))

Chassis height

Setting
The chassis height can be
changed. This is done by
moving the front fork in the lower
fork bridge and adjusting the
suspension strut length.
Adjusting height of front
fork
Make sure ground is level and
firm and park motorcycle.
Remove screw 1 on left and
right.
Remove screw 2 on left and
right while supporting engine
spoiler.
Push engine spoiler slightly
toward rear and take off down-
ward.
Loosen screws 1 on left and
right immersion tube.
Loosen screws 2 on front
mudguard.
Raise motorcycle with a suit-
able lifting tool until front wheel
is suspended. BMW Motorrad
recommends the BMW Motor-
rad center stand.
