Pushing the alarm switch for 2 seconds
or more blows the security horn and
vehicle horn intermittently and flashes
the turn signal lights.
This function is used to deter vehicle theft
when you witness anyone attempting to
break into or damage your vehicle.
The alarm will sound for 30 seconds. To
stop alarm midway, push any switch.
The alarm does not work when the ignition
key is in the "ON" position.

—Setting optional functions
You can set the following for wireless
remote control system:
(a) Answerback function
The answerback function can be turned on
or off. Locking or unlocking is indicated by
flashing the turn signal lights and sound-
ing of the security horn, or flashing of the
turn signal lights only. The security horn
sounds if any door is not securely closed.
(b) Automatic locking and unlocking
function
The automatic locking and unlocking func-
tion can be turned on or off. The locking
function is linked to the vehicle speed and
the unlocking function is linked to the igni-
tion switch.
CHANGING THE OPTIONAL FUNCTIONS
1. Remove the key from the ignition
switch and check that the theft deter-
rent system is disarmed.
2. Within 5 seconds, insert and remove
the ignition key twice in quick succes-
sion.
3. Wait for 5 seconds. Within the 10 sec-
onds, push and hold the lock and un-
lock switches simultaneously for 3 sec-
onds or more. The turn signal lights
will flash once indicating operation suc-
cess to this point.
Select the function you wish to set and
follow the procedures below. To cancel the
operation, insert the key into the ignition
switch.
