Unlocking operation
To lock and unlock all the doors, push
the switches of the key slowly and se-
curely.
Locking the doors with the wireless
remote
control
key
sets
deterrent system, and unlocking cancels
the system. For further information
about this system, see "Theft deterrent
system" on page 24.
To lock: Push the lock switch with all the
doors closed. All the doors are locked si-
multaneously. At this time, the turn signal
lights flash once.
Check to see that the doors are securely
locked.
If the lock switch is pushed while any
door is not securely closed, locking will
not be performed and the security horn
will sound for 1 second.
If the lock switch is pushed while the key
is in the ignition, locking will not be per-
formed.
To unlock: Push the unlock switch. All the
doors are unlocked simultaneously. At this
time, the turn signal lights flash twice.
You have 30 seconds to open a door after
the
theft
using the wireless remote unlock feature.
If a door is not opened by then, all the
doors will be automatically locked again.
If the lock or unlock switch is kept
pressed in, the locking or unlocking opera-
tion is not repeated. Release the switch
and then push it again.
You can turn the answerback function on
or off, or change the settings. For details,
see "—Setting optional functions" on page
14.
Your Toyota dealer can also perform the
above operation for you.
