In this menu you can set the input which is to be used for
the SAT receiver (STB): either the analogue sound input
(L, R), or one of the digital inputs Digital IN optical or
Digital IN co-ax.
Calibration:
When external analogue sound sources are used,
optimum reproduction quality can only be obtained if the
DD 820 M's analogue / digital converter is adjusted
accurately to match the output level of the source device.
The DD 820 M features an automatic calibration function
which sets this value. This is the procedure for setting
the correct level:
1. Select the desired analogue audio or AV source
device and play a fortissimo passage.
2. Call up the 'Inputs Menu', select Start Calibration
and press the 
 button.
3. The message Running appears on the screen for
the duration of the calibration process.
Notes:
Automatic calibration is available for all external
analogue audio and A/V source devices (TAPE 1,
TAPE 2, AUX/TV, AUX/PHONO, STB [if analogue]), and
the process should be carried out for all the devices
connected to these inputs.
The integral tuner is factory-set to the optimum level, and
it is therefore not possible to calibrate this source device.
If a source device occasionally overloads the system
(audible distortion) in very loud passages, even though
you have calibrated the converter for that source, the
integral screen will display the following message briefly:
'
O V E R L O A D
O V E R L O A D
O V E R L O A D
O V E R L O A D
If this happens, the analogue/digital converter should be
re-calibrated to this source device.
The level adjustment process has no effect in '
mode.
