6.10 Wire Feed and Weld Problems

A. Poor or inconsistent arc transfer or no arc transfer.
1. Poor work cable connection or open work cable.
a. Clean contact point where the work cable
attaches to the work piece.
b. Check continuity of the work cable.
B. Other welding problems.

Welding Terminals.

6.11 Rectifier Assembly Test Procedure

A. Remove the inside cover.
B. Replace the Rectifier Assembly if shorted or open
diode is found. Reconnect wires previously removed
from terminals A and AC1.

1. Disconnect and isolate the black wire from the
negative capacitor terminal (A). Refer to Figure
6-1.
2. Disconnect and isolate the transformer wire from
terminal AC1. Refer to Figure 6-1.
3. Using a multimeter set to diode test scale, perform
the checks as indicated in the chart.
