the drain
plug

the oil

drain
out and refIt the drain

the front
wheels
Jack
up the
rear
of the
car
and
support
on
firmly
based stands
Remove
the road
wheels
to
give better
access

Refer
to
Chapter 9
and
dIsconnect
the
handbraka
loft hand
rear
cable

The exhaust and silencer
assembly
wdl have
to
be moved to
allow the
propeller
shaft
to
be lowered to the
floor
Slacken the
U
bolt securing
nuts
and
turn
the
pre sdencer
chamber
through
90

Mark the
mating flanges
of the
propeller
shaft and fInal drlV8
to ensure
correct
refitting

Undo and
remove
the
propeller
shaft
flange
securing
bolts
and
carefully
lower the
propeller
shaft
SWing
to one

Undo and
remove
the pInIon shaft

nut
and
washer

USing
a
unoversal
puller
and SUItable thrust
pad
draw off tho
pinIon shaft
flange

The old oil seal
may be removed
by dISintegrating
