TROUBLE SHOOTING AND SOLUTION

Functional fault
Insuffi cient material output
Poor spray pattern
Valve rod leaks
Poor wrap-around
Back-spray
No wrap-around

Cause
• Nozzle too small.
• Material pressure too
low.
• High pressure fi lter at
pump clogged.
• Nozzle is clogged.
• Wrongly adjusted
atomizing air.
• Nozzle too large.
• Material pressure too
low.
• Material viscosity too
high.
• Seals at the valve rod
are damaged.
• Inadequate earthing.
• Inadequate electrical
resistance of the paint.
• Spraying pressure too
high.
• Inadequate earthing.
• Distance between
spray gun and object
too large.
• High-voltage switch is
in the off position.
• No electrostatics.
Remedy
• Select larger nozzle (see
nozzle table 9.1 and 9.2).
• Increase material pressure.
• Clean or replace fi lter.
• Nozzle cleaning.
• Readjust the atomizing air.
• Select smaller nozzle
(see nozzle table).
• Increase material pressure
at the material supply.
• Thin material in accordance
with the manufacturer's
instructions.
• Replace the seals
(see chapter 6).
• Check earthing.
• Check resistance of paint
(see paragraph 4.1.1).
• Readjust spraying pressure.
• Check earthing.
• Reduce distance between
spray gun and object.
• Switch on high-voltage.
• Repair malfunction as laid
down in the control unit
