REAR AXLE/FINAL DRIVE GEAR AND DRIVE SHAFT

Remove the ring gear assembly.
G
Measure the thrust clearance. Calculate the
width of the flattened Plastigauge
Ring gear thrust clearance:
0.1 ~ 0.2 mm (0.004 ~ 0.008 in)
G
If out of specification, select the correct
washer.
Thrust washer selection steps:
G
Select a suitable thrust washer using the
following chart.

Repeat the measurement steps until the ring
gear thrust clearance is within the specified
limits.

Ring gear stopper shim selection
1.Measure:
Ring gear stopper clearance "D"
G
Use a feeler gauge 1.
Out of specification → Adjust.
Ring gear stopper clearance "D":
0.30 ~ 0.60 mm (0.012 ~ 0.024 in)
