Use a screw driver or similar tool to remove the crystals carefully from above
through the openings from the lantern. Remove the salt crystals that might
collect on the motor foot.
The motor shaft must be completely free of any salt crystals. Please check
whether the shaft rotates freely, to do so try rotating the motor shaft with a
screwdriver at the fan side.
If it rotates easily, remove your tool and restore the power supply.

Important hints for repair work
Dismantling:
Replacement of the mechanical seal:
Switch off the pump and disconnect it from the power supply. The exchange of
the mechanical seal has to be done by an expert. The mechanical seal al-
ways has to be replaced completely (433). To do so, it is not necessary to
dismantle the complete pump, only the motor unit has to be removed from the
housing (101) by loosening the 12 tapping screws (900) and the 4 Allan screws
(914.1).
Removing of the impeller:

The impeller of the BADU
Resort is fitted onto the shaft. Unscrew the cap nut
(922) with o-ring (412.6). Remove the impeller (230.1) from the motor shaft.
Assembly:
Mounting of the new mechanical seal:
Slightly moisten the impeller hub (230) as well as the sleeve of the complete
lock ring with soap water. Press the mechanical seal (433) onto the impeller
hub regularly with both thumbs, press the lock ring into the gland housing
(161.2), respectively.
Re-assembly of the impeller:
Before re-assembly of the impeller, clean the surface of the lock ring and of the
mechanical seal with alcohol or with a clean paper tissue.
First put the impeller (230) onto the motor shaft until it catches. Then screw on
the cap nut (922) with o-ring (412.6).
Re-assembly of the motor unit into the pump casing:
First turn the 12 tapping screws (900) to the left until reaching the cut thread by
latching, tighten only afterwards. Please make sure that the screws are not
tightened too strong (tightening moment 7 Nm). Tighten the 4 Allan screws
(914.1) crosswise (tightening moment 3 Nm).
