2. SP3 setup for static host and static SP3.
This setup uses peer-to-peer physical connection using a cross-over
Ethernet port on the back of SP3 unit, directly to the second LAN2 card in the host PC. To set up the
SP3, press right arrow key to enter the menu system, then:
SYSTEM SETUPMISCELLANEOUS
Scroll to the third screen down:
Make sure that the setup screen looks on like above screen
left arrow key to escape back to the main screen, then press STANDBY button and then again to power
up, to reset the SP3 unit.
3. Host PC setup for static IP address.
Ideally, a second network
interface card (LAN2) would
connect only to SP3, while
the main network card
(LAN) would maintain the
normal network and internet
connectivity. An example of
the interface configuration is
showed at the right:

Some network card allow using standard (non-cross-over) Ethernet cables.
