Paper Misfeeds

Probable Causes
The paper is not correctly positioned in the
tray.
The paper tray is too full.
The paper guides are not correctly adjusted
to the paper size.
The tray contains warped or wrinkled paper.
The paper is moist from humidity.
Using paper of the wrong size, thickness, or
type.
The label sheet is facing the wrong way in the
tray or labels have been removed from the
sheet.
Envelopes are loaded incorrectly in the paper
tray.
The printer feed rollers are dirty.

Probable Causes
Some paper remains jammed in the printer.
One of the printer doors is open.

Solutions
• Remove the misfed sheet and reposition the remaining paper
properly in the tray.
• Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size.
Remove some of the paper. Do not load paper past the fill line.
Adjust the paper guides in the tray to match the size of the paper.
Remove the paper, smooth it out, and reload it. If it still misfeeds,
do not use that paper.
Remove the moist paper and replace it with new, dry paper.
Use only Xerox approved paper.
• Load label sheets according to the instructions from the
manufacturer.
• Print only on one side of the sheet of labels.
• Use full sheet labels only.
• Load labels face down in Tray 1.
• Load labels face up in any 525-sheet paper tray.
Load the envelopes in the paper tray short-edge feed with the flaps
closed.
With a clean, soft cloth, clean the feed rollers.

Solutions
Recheck the media path and make sure that you have removed all
of the jammed paper.
Check the doors on the printer. Close any door that is open.
