Troubleshooting

Possible causes
The electrodes are not
properly stuck to the
skin.
Badly connected lead
wire.
Very hairy skin.
Batteries are flat.
Batteries are flat or not
correctly inserted.
Device is too warm to
operate (above 60C).
Internal error.
Output shorted (i.e. leads
or electrodes touching)
or safety limit reached.
TSE/IC Switch
stuck in mid position
Internal fault.
Weak or dead batteries.
Batteries installed the
wrong way around.
Poor adhesion with skin.
Power set too high.
Device not fully pushed
into cradle.
Solution
Make sure that the lead wire is properly
connected to both the device and the
electrodes. Ensure that the electrodes
are firmly stuck to the skin. Replace
electrodes if required. If skin is very
hairy, cut short underneath the
electrodes and try again.
If none of the above works, disable
Pad Detect in Settings (p 32).
Recharge batteries.
Recharge batteries and check
orientation.
Allow device to cool before use.
Turn device off then on, if error persists
reset device (see instructions on p 31).
Check output lead or pads are not
touching. Turn device off then on.
Otherwise follow instructions for 03-06.
Check switch is fully over to correct side
Otherwise follow instructions for 03-06.
Remove and replace batteries.
Reset device as described on p 31.
Recharge batteries.
Check that batteries are inserted the
right way around.
Check electrodes are not peeling away.
Reduce power level by 25%.
Remove from cradle and reinsert
pressing firmly home.
