Maintenance and Care

Transportation
9
To prevent damage to Acticare IC during
transport, it is recommended that you pack
the device and charger in the bag as
illustrated above. Put the cradle in the pocket
so that the cable exits to the left and place
the wall plug unit in the bottom of the bag
with pins facing forward so that they cannot
scratch the plastic of the device or charger.
The back pocket of the carry bag is lined with
waterproof fabric to facilitate the transport of
damp sponges and rubber electrodes.
Self Adhesive Electrodes
Self Adhesive electrodes are recommended for
TSE treatments. Typically these have a
lifetime of 30 uses. This means that they
should be replaced every month if used once
per day. With heavy use, electrodes may need
replacing sooner.
Because of the higher current level with TSE,
standard carbon rubber TENS electrodes are
not suitable. Always use the recommended
electrodes available direct from us or your
local Acticare agent, these have an integral
stainless steel or silver conductor for superior
current distribution.
Always store electrodes on their backing sheet
in their sealed bag between treatments. When
not in use do not leave electrodes exposed to
the air, even if on their backing sheet. This
may cause them to dry out prematurely. Dry
electrodes may be re-moistened by rubbing a
few drops of water into the sticky surface.
To prevent cross contamination do not share
electrodes.
Electrode life is considerably shortened by use
on dirty or oily skin; it is best to clean the
electrode application area with soap and
water, then rinse and thoroughly dry before
each session.
