Charging a 12V Battery
f When charging the vehicle's battery, you should
turn off any lights, audio equipment or other
12V accessories that are connected to your vehicle's
electrical system.
f Make sure your vehicle is in the park position and
secured by the emergency brake.
Warning! A spark near the battery may cause
an explosion. Follow instructions carefully to
reduce the risk of spark near the battery.
f Powering the charger by inserting the power supply
cable into a standard 220V AC outlet.
f As the battery being charged, the green charging light
flashes.
Caution! If the green charging light turns off
and the red light turns on, immediately
disconnect the battery clips from the battery
terminals.
Three-stage battery charging
Multi-stage charging ensures batteries receive optimum
charging:
1) Current charge
2) Constant charge
3) Float charge
End of charge:
f When fully charged, the green light illuminate
constantly. The recharge time will vary based on the
capacity and discharge state of the battery.
f Disconnect the power supply cable from the standard
220V AC outlet.
f Disconnect the red charge clamp from the Positive
terminal of the battery (+) symbol.
f Disconnect the black charge clamp from the chassis
of the vehicle or from the Negative terminal of the
battery (-) symbol.
f Store the battery charger in a dry place.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

f Clean cords and clamps each time you are finished
using the charger. Wipe off any battery fluid or debris
that might have come in contact with the clamps to
prevent corrosion.
f Store the power and output cable neatly to prevent
damage.
f Occasional cleaning of the battery charger case with
a soft cloth will help protect the finish.
f Always unplug the charger when not in use.
f Keep the charger stored in a cool, dry place.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Separate collection. This product must not be
disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you find one day that your Black & Decker
product needs replacement, or if it is of no further
use to you, do not dispose of it with household
waste. Make this product available for separate
collection.
Separate collection of used products and packaging
allows materials to be recycled and used again.
Re-use of recycled materials helps prevent
environmental pollution and reduces the demand
for raw materials. Local regulations may provide for
separate collection of electrical products from the
household, at municipal waste sites or by the
retailer when you purchase a new product.
