8. Insert the connector and cable of the new thermal sensor into the lower hole
align the two tabs on the plastic holder holding the thermal sensor with the two holes
chassis, and push the plastic holder until it snaps into position.

9. Reconnect the thermal sensor cable to the system board. See "Locating parts on the system board"
on page 72.
10. Reinstall the front bezel. See "Removing and reinstalling the front bezel" on page 84.

Replacing the microprocessor

Important: Before you replace any FRU, be sure to read and understand Chapter 1 "Safety information"
on page 1.
This section provides instructions on how to replace the microprocessor.
CAUTION:
The heat sink and microprocessor might be very hot. Before you open the computer cover, turn off
the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is cool.
To replace the microprocessor, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 83.
